Maintenance and atmosphere
The aim is to take care of each organ in an efficient and respectful way. We make sure that the instrument is in tune, mechanically functioning, clean and well cared for. A wide range of services is offered to keep the organ in the best possible condition.
Subpoena
Subpoenaing is one of the most common services we perform. We make sure the organ sounds as it should and stays in tune over time.
Cleaning and overhaul
An organ usually needs cleaning every ten to twenty years. A thorough review is then carried out, often including the following steps:
- Barrel disassembly: All barrels are disassembled to allow for thorough cleaning.
- Cleaning: pipes, rasta boards, pipes and organ cases are thoroughly cleaned.
- Checking the caps: The caps of covered pipes are checked to ensure that they function correctly.
- Intonation review: Intonation is reviewed. Tongue voices usually require more time than labial voices.
- Mechanics and air system: The mechanics are checked for reliable operation and the air system is examined for possible leaks.
- Tuning: Finally, the entire organ is tuned after the overhaul is completed.
During the course of the work, minor errors that were previously unnoticed may be discovered. These are addressed in consultation with the customer.
