Töreboda church, 2023
Description
The new barrel organ in Töreboda church is an expanded version of Salomon Molander’s organ from 1895, with an arrangement that now includes 28 stops.
Historical background and design:
- Molander’s original organ contained 14 stops divided between two manuals with attached pedals.
- The new organ has 23 stops and 5 transmissions, giving a total disposition of 28 stops.
- The new console is freestanding and mounted in front of the organ case, made of pine with details in mahogany and other hardwoods.
Mechanics:
- We have chosen to use a mechanics after C A Härngren, who developed a unique mechanical ladle with pneumatic aids.
- In addition to the traditional stop action, the organ is equipped with a modern combination system from Heuss.
Pipework:
- The main part of the pipework consists of preserved original pipes from the Molander organ.
- A few voices from later renovations have been reused.
- Five new metal stems, including two tubular stems, are newly manufactured.
- The organ has been extended with three pipe ranks in the swell, including two trumpet ranks, to do justice to French romantic and modern organ music.
Air system:
- Each mill has its own wedge bellows, three bellows in total.
Subpoena:
- The organ is tuned in equal temperament.
