Glumslöv church, 2002

Description

Glumslöv Church is a medieval stone church in a smaller format. The entrance to the church is located on the south side, and the organ is located at the back of the church.

Appearance and design

  • The organ has many similarities with the choir organ in Östhammar church.
  • Parts of Præstant 8′ are in the façade.
  • The pedal’s five tunings are on a weather box behind the cabinet.
  • Behind the pedal are two large bellows on stands.

Mechanics

  • Suspended mechanics.
  • Mechanical register mechanics.
  • Scope: manual C-d³, pedal C-d¹.

Pipework

  • The façade pipes are made of 85% tin.
  • Other metal pipes are made of 75-95% hammered lead.
  • The 16′ sub-base is made of pine.
  • The Trägedackt 8′ and Ehrnelif flute 4′ in the breastwork are made of oak.
  • The Krumphorn 8′ is a type of regal based on a tuning in the breastwork of Steinkirchen, Germany.
  • Ehrneli Flute 4′ is named after Ernst Ehrneli, a man who lived and worked in Glumslöv and who was responsible for financing the organ.

Gaming tables and details

  • The console, stool and pedalboard frame are made of cherry.
  • The keys are made of cob and ebony, and the pedal keys of maple and jacaranda.
  • The registration marks are made in jacaranda.
  • The carvings are of linden, treated with red-colored wax and have gilded details.

Air system

  • The air system consists of two large wedge bellows mounted on an elevated stand, allowing you to walk from side to side under the bellows behind the organ.
  • The bellows can be pulled with two ropes hanging on the right side of the organ.
  • Air pressure is 68 mm on water column.

Atmosphere

  • The organ is tuned in Kellner’s “Bach” temperament – a mild, olive temperament that favors the most common keys.

“We can only congratulate Glumslöv parish, which has received a nationally interesting and well-sounding organ from perhaps the country's most interesting organ builder at the moment. To approve this organ feels like an understatement. I bow down! ”

Mats Hultkvist, organist, inspector at the inspection of the organ in 2002
